Filmmaker and Stills Photographer
Katie Toon is a Photographer and filmmaker originally from West Yorkshire and currently based in London and Yorkshire.
Katie's most recent work includes advertisement stills for The National Coal Mining Museum, Cambridge University and YUUP. as well as working with acclaimed actors Kevin McNally and Ed Speelers on a short film titled 'Fudge Sundae' which was directed by Georgia Redman. Katie's work has been featured in Film Crew UK's magazines Stills photographer edition, as well as in a Bristol 24/7 for an article review of The Actors Workshop's 2025 Showcase. Katie has a first class honours bachelors of Arts degree in creative filmmaking and recently took part in a unit stills photography workshop funded by the BFI, AS WELL AS A VIRTUAL PRODUCTION BOOTCAMP WHERE SHE LEARNT ABOUT UNREAL ENGINE AND WORKING IN A VP STUDIO.
Katie'S first short film 'The Prevention Line', was selected and given a special mention at the RS Film Festival in Bristol AND WAS WHERE SHE WAS awarded 'student filmmaker of the year' FOR 2022. HER SECOND SHORT FILM 'Mabel' was awarded the audience choice award at the lift off global network sessions, and was a finalist in both Sunrise Film Festival and The RS Film Festival. During her time at FILM SCHOOL, Katie was ASKED TO BE THE STILLS PHOTOGRAPHER on two short films BY multi award winning director Paul Holbrook and AS WELL AS two short film projects with Kwame Lestrade ALL OF WHICH WERE IN PARTNERSHIP WITH Bristol charity Integrate UK. after graduating, Katie was asked to join Bristol crew, a boutique database with limited space in each department. you can see her profile through this link:

Katie's strengths include her eye for creating great composition within a shot, her problem solving under pressure, her warm and bubbly personality to help keep crew moral high as well as her flexibility to change roles at a moments notice whilst juggling multiple tasks.
